The recommendation I give most often and that people most often ignore: buy the cheap interface and put the difference into the room. It is not an exciting answer and it is the one that changes the recordings. An EVO 4 and four hundred dollars of corner absorption will beat a thousand dollar interface in a bare room every time, and it is not close. What you can photograph is not what decides how the record sounds.
